椅子：chair；凳子：stool。区别在于靠背，椅子有靠背，有的还有扶手，而凳子则没有这些。说椅子就不能不提凳子，因为没有凳子就衍生不出后来的椅子。凳，最早并不是我们今天坐的凳子，它是专指蹬具，相当于脚踏。
